Meet the Skout: Alex G

Meet our new office manager, Alex

What was your dream job when you were younger?

I only ever wanted to work in an office environment.  As a kid my make believe play was setting up a variety of offices. I always wanted my own desk and a stationery cupboard!

How did you end up on your current career path?

My chosen career was in HR which came from studying Business and Finance at university.  As my priorities have changed over the years my primary aim is to be in a job which makes me happy, is interesting and varied, which keeps me close to home for my young family and is working with a great team of people – all of which are ticked being here at Skout.

What’s the best piece of advice you have ever been given?

Don’t moan and complain about something you have the power to change –  change it.

If you won the lottery, how would you spend it?

Travelling to all the countries on my bucket list – in style.

What’s the worst job you’ve ever had?

Being a silver service waitress in a hotel – I wasn’t very good at it!

If you were an animal what would you be and why?

A dolphin – I love swimming and being in water – this is where I am most relaxed.

If you could, would you live forever and why/why not?

No, not to be too morbid but if I was the only one living forever I would eventually loose all my loved ones who did not have the same “super power”.

Who are your top three dream dinner party guests?

My husband Rob and a couple of good friends.  I don’t think you should meet your idols as I think you would only be disappointed when they’re not how you see them on TV or in films!
