Our work in this area

Launching a US fintech in the UK to become a visionary player in the market

Global provider of tax technology solutions Vertex helps businesses achieve frictionless commerce. The company’s mission is to provide the most trusted and comprehensive tax technology in the industry – enabling businesses to transact seamlessly and compliantly, all while supporting their ambitions for growth. Vertex’s suite of products are used by some of the biggest companies all over the world.

However, Vertex’s brand awareness in the UK was low. As part of the business ramping up its marketing activity in the UK, Vertex turned to Skout to drive a PR campaign to grow and enhance its brand awareness, cement its position as an innovative player in the industry and stand out amongst competitors. The campaign would be centred around Vertex’s key messaging: tax transformation, frictionless commerce and being a visionary player in the market.

Doubling share of voice for a European HR tech scaleup

The scaleup SaaS employee experience platform LumApps helps teams across the world share the same objectives. Acting as a ‘Digital HQ’, LumApps offers a platform for employees to gather, to be informed and inspired, share knowledge and do great work. The platform is used by some of the world’s largest companies including Electronic Arts, Airbus and Just Eat. The French business had a strong presence in its home territory as well as in the US, but the UK market was a new region to tackle.

LumApps was looking to increase its presence in the UK to help support the marketing strategy, drive leads and build awareness in the market among key HR decision makers, as well as standing out from competitors. The business turned to Skout to create and drive a UK PR campaign around the key messaging and themes that sit at the heart of LumApps’ ethos: employee engagement, employee retention, internal communications and first-in-class technological development.

Opening minds to next generation technology

Teneo, a specialist integrator of next generation technology, tasked Skout with devising a UK and US-focused PR programme to raise awareness of both the company’s values and its insights into key business technology issues. As part of this, we identified the topics that Teneo was particularly keen to talk about, such as GDPR, which helped us pitch them to the media as a knowledgeable commentator on the issue just as it was becoming a hot topic.

Also, we conducted a survey of CIOs and took the various themes arising from it to use as hooks to generate further media coverage.

Tackling e-waste

Leading circular IT provider, Stone Group, wanted to raise awareness of its IT asset disposal service and gamechanging IT recycling app, Stone 360, showcasing its fundamental commitment to reducing e-waste.

Global e-commerce thought leadership

E-commerce software provider Sana Commerce briefed Skout to devise and deliver content marketing campaigns to position it as market and thought leader on B2B e-commerce, and drive demand for its solutions.

A new approach to communications

Wax Digital identified the benefits of moving from outbound marketing towards an inbound approach, based on increased digital and social media activity and B2B tech PR for brand building. It understood that this would require a constant stream of compelling and engaging content, and that PR-led tier one media coverage would become increasingly critical in the battle to win over target customers.

Keeping spokespeople on message

A key element of cloud service provider Redcentric’s B2B PR strategy was the use of technical experts as spokespeople. With the reputation of a new company brand at stake, Skout’s brief was to ensure that every spokesperson received B2B media training to stay on message when talking to journalists.

The future of procurement

eProcurement software provider Wax Digital required a B2B marketing campaign that explored the future of procurement to position the business as an innovator in its sector.

Successfully spurring regional business growth

Our university client was committed to accelerating business growth and innovation in its region, offering support such as workshops and events, funding, incubation, and academic support for entrepreneurs seeking the next stage of their venture. Skout was asked to help communicate these services through creative B2B content campaigns targeting the regional business community.

Defining the desktop IT agenda

Thinspace was a thin client IT vendor, working to help organisations migrate from PCs to more cost effective, greener, and highly secure cloud-based computing. Needing to make an impact, Thinspace decided to focus on selling to firms still unaware of the benefits of thin client computing.

New to PR, they approached Skout for help and gave us two core objectives: get the company and its products noticed by the IT media and analyst community and help convince IT people of the long-term cost benefits of replacing PCs with thin client technology.
