An introduction to Professional and outsourced services

We have a huge amount of experience providing effective B2B marketing and PR agency support to professional services and outsourced business service providers, including accountancy, legal, financial, management consultancy and IT.

With unprecedented levels of change in the workplace, the outsourcing of services is becoming an ever more common business practice. For companies that specialise in outsourcing this is a bright opportunity to secure new and repeat business. Brand prominence through marketing and PR is vital. And, more traditional professional services such as legal or accountancy services are facing growing competition. These firms must work harder to win business.

We will make it our mission to build and sustain the business relationships you need for success and provide you with both guidance and expertise in the development of dynamic and attention-grabbing communications campaigns. These will generate measurable results in the building and positioning of your brand and the cultivation of sustained customer interest and sales.

You will benefit from our breadth of expertise in a wide variety of marketing endeavours, from copywriting and social media to securing press coverage in relevant media. And you will also tap into our passion, creativity, knowledge of current trends and media contacts for the development of targeted communications strategies aimed at delivering brand brilliance.

Our work in this area

Using thought leadership to spark debate

Skout was enlisted by warehouse automation provider Conveyor Networks to raise brand awareness and support lead generation. We developed research based B2B marketing campaign to uncover the key themes and challenges amongst its core market of mid-tier retailers. Using the findings, our integrated campaign positioned Conveyor Networks as a thought leader and used content across multiple channels to resonate with its key audience.

Helping a legal ‘accident helpline’ provider achieve growth

Customer acquisition specialist mmadigital was looking to position itself as a disruptive technology business in the legal sector, and approached Skout to help build B2B brand awareness, educate law firms around the benefits of its innovative services, and boost its employer brand to support future recruitment.

Raising profile in the legal sector

Law firm SAS Daniels offers a range of legal services to clients across the North West. Keen to raise the profile of its success and growth and increase awareness of the range of services it had to offer, SAS Daniels handed its legal PR brief to Skout.

With legal experts in areas such as property, wills and estate planning and employment law, we focused on the relevant issues that affect local businesses and individuals, and widened media outreach to include regional broadcast opportunities and top tier vertical media.

Showcasing executive expertise

Optimum Procurement, a recognised leader in procurement outsourcing and consultancy services, was seeking to capitalise on its established business presence and numerous customer successes. It engaged Skout to raise its profile across several marketing channels and deliver a group-wide B2B communications programme, resulting in a range of thought-provoking blogs, articles and white papers showcasing the company’s outstanding knowledge of its sector. These materials subsequently led to coverage in tier-1 media titles such as Procurement Leaders, Supply Management and The Guardian.

We also worked with Optimum to organise a series of round-table debates on the future of procurement, which were attended by many leading figures within the sector, as well as financial journalists. The events served as lead and content generation opportunities, supporting multi-channel brand building.

Tapping into its industry expertise, Skout also provided Optimum with rapid response as part of its PR programme, aimed at developing media coverage on relevant current issues.

Bosses Behaving Badly

Skout was approached by UK management consultancy INSPIRING Business Performance to help its new online leadership measurement tool make a big splash in the crowded HR technology marketplace dominated by established names.

We needed to find a unique angle that would hook in journalists, and then put together a product-centred research plan involving over 1,000 employees to obtain relevant supporting data. The research findings were then turned into a series of natural stories which fed into the central media campaign concept of ‘Bosses Behaving Badly: Are British Leaders Denting Profit, Performance and Trust?’ which highlighted the analytical capabilities of the new tool.

Following the success of the initial launch, we continued the campaign by creating leadership-related B2B PR coverage and social media conversations around topical events.
