An introduction to Finance and procurement

At Skout, our strategic B2B communications services can help you raise your profile with corporate finance and procurement decision makers. We are proactive partners, with considerable experience of working closely with clients who need to align with CFOs and heads of procurement. As a B2B PR agency we’ve tackled topics such as financial efficiency, performance forecasting, compliance and analytics, on a regular basis, including the creation of highly-targeted brand awareness strategies and brilliant content centred on appealing to these audiences.

As procurement encompasses everything that a business may need to acquire, including human resources, services, special projects and physical products, it can be a many-layered field, touching on different sectors.

We’ll work closely with you to identify and then action your specific B2B communications requirements with these audiences. Our team will become your trusted advisors, bringing a true partnership approach to your PR, marketing and communications requirements, meaning deeper business relationships, in which we aim to become a natural extension to your team. As a creative and innovative agency, we often venture beyond the usual parameters of B2B communications when working with clients in these sectors, so please do get in touch to discuss your specific requirements.

Our work in this area

Engaging small business customers

Wesleyan Bank enlisted Skout as its B2B PR agency, to increase brand awareness by educating the small business sector on the growth advantages of alternative finance. We created an integrated campaign that would support Wesleyan’s lead generation while positioning it as a market leader across many communication channels.

Awakening the giant campaign

ESPO is one of the UK’s largest public sector buying organisations. This B2B PR brief focused on making more organisations aware of the scale and breadth of the cost-effective products, services and purchasing frameworks ESPO provides. Key objectives were to help extend its brand reach, to educate target markets about the benefits of ESPO, and to generate positive media coverage.

A new approach to communications

Wax Digital identified the benefits of moving from outbound marketing towards an inbound approach, based on increased digital and social media activity and B2B tech PR for brand building. It understood that this would require a constant stream of compelling and engaging content, and that PR-led tier one media coverage would become increasingly critical in the battle to win over target customers.

The future of procurement

eProcurement software provider Wax Digital required a B2B marketing campaign that explored the future of procurement to position the business as an innovator in its sector.

Preparing for every eventuality

ESPO is a professional buying organisation for the public and education sectors. With a large supply chain, thousands of customers, a busy warehouse, and a fleet of vehicles on the road, a PR crisis could occur at any time. Communicating with the media is essential during a crisis and handling the situation efficiently and effectively is vital. ESPO came to us to create a crisis PR plan which would enable it to speak to the media with confidence in any circumstance.

Technology leadership campaign

Wax Digital  wanted to position itself as a technology leader in the procurement software sector. We provided an integrated lead generation, PR and marketing campaign, investigating the future of technology-led corporate buying.

Showcasing executive expertise

Optimum Procurement, a recognised leader in procurement outsourcing and consultancy services, was seeking to capitalise on its established business presence and numerous customer successes. It engaged Skout to raise its profile across several marketing channels and deliver a group-wide B2B communications programme, resulting in a range of thought-provoking blogs, articles and white papers showcasing the company’s outstanding knowledge of its sector. These materials subsequently led to coverage in tier-1 media titles such as Procurement Leaders, Supply Management and The Guardian.

We also worked with Optimum to organise a series of round-table debates on the future of procurement, which were attended by many leading figures within the sector, as well as financial journalists. The events served as lead and content generation opportunities, supporting multi-channel brand building.

Tapping into its industry expertise, Skout also provided Optimum with rapid response as part of its PR programme, aimed at developing media coverage on relevant current issues.
